Ο Δήμος Λουτρακίου – Αγίων Θεοδώρων σε συνεργασία με τον Όμιλο ΑNTENNA συνεχίζουν τις πετυχημένες παραστάσεις της παγκοσμίου φήμης όπερας με τη συγκλονιστική όπερα του George Frideric Handel «THE ENCHANTED ISLAND» («Το Μαγεμένο Νησί»),που μεταδίδεται από τη METROPOLITAN OPERA ΤΗΣ ΝΕΑΣ ΥΟΡΚΗΣ το Σάββατο στις 21 ΙΑΝΟΥΑΡΙΟΥ και ώρα 19:55 στο «Αλεξάνδρειο» Συνεδριακό Κέντρο Λουτρακίου.

Στο εξαιρετικό αυτό έργο, οι λάτρεις της Μπαρόκ όπερας θα απολαύσουν, μέσα από μια ιστορία εμπνευσμένη από τον Σαίξπηρ, τους καλύτερους λυρικούς ερμηνευτές σε μια εξαίσια μουσική παράσταση- pastiche με αποσπάσματα έργων κάποιων από τους σπουδαιότερους και διασημότερους Μπαρόκ συνθέτες.

Στο «The Enchanted Island», οι εραστές από το «Όνειρο Θερινής Νυκτός» του Σαίξπηρ, ναυαγούν στο φανταστικό νησί από την Τρικυμία. Εμπνευσμένο από τα μουσικά ποτ-πουρί και τις μασκαράτες του 18ου αιώνα, το έργο παρουσιάζει άριες και ensembles από τους Ηaendel, Vivaldi, Rameau & άλλους, καθώς και ένα καινούργιο λιμπρέτο από τον Jeremy Sams. Ο διακεκριμένος μαέστρος William Christie διευθύνει μια πλειάδα αστέρων με τον διάσημο μπαρόκ τενόρο David Daniels (Πρόσπερο) και την μοναδική λυρική mezzo Joyce Di Donato (Σύκοραξ) στους ρόλους των άσπονδων εχθρών. Τον ρόλο του Ποσειδώνα ερμηνεύει ο παγκοσμίου φήμης Ισπανός τενόρος Plácido Domingo με την γοητευτική λυρική σοπράνο Danielle de Niese να κρατά το ρόλο της Άριελ και ο εξαιρετικός μπάσος- βαρύτονος Luca Pisaroni να υποδύεται τον Κάλιμπαν. Η ταλαντούχα σοπράνο Lisette Oropesa και ο νεαρός τενόρος Anthony Roth Costanzo συμμετέχουν με τους ρόλους της Μιράντας και του Φερδινάνδου, αντίστοιχα. Η σκηνοθεσία και ο σχεδιασμός της εντυπωσιακής παραγωγής είναι από τους Phelim McDermott και Julian Crouch (γνωστοί από την παράσταση «Satyagraha» και το επετειακό γκαλά για τα 125 χρόνια της Μetropolitan Opera).

Στις 26 Δεκεμβρίου 2011 στο Λουτράκι θα βρίσκονται στα πλαίσια της περιοδείας στην Ελλάδα υπό την αιγίδα της Πρεσβείας της Ρωσίας η πρίμα μπαλαρίνα του Κρατικού Ακαδημαϊκού Θεάτρου Κλασικού Μπαλέτου της Μόσχας GRAND MOSCOW CLASSICAL BALLET.

H Διακεκριμένη καλλιτέχνης της Ρωσικής Ομοσπονδίας Μαρίνα ΡΖΑΝΝΙΚΟΒΑ και 15 βραβευμένοι σολίστες των Κρατικών Μπαλέτων της Μόσχας για να παρουσιάσουν στους φιλότεχνους ΄Ελληνες θεατές εξαιρετικόΧριστουγεννιάτικο Gala των Αστέρων τoυ Κρατικού Μπαλέτου της Μόσχας.

Στο πρόγραμμα της εκδήλωσης – πράξεις από το Χριστουγεννιάτικο μπαλέτο του Τσαϊκόφσκι -«Καρυοθραύστης» και αποσπάσματα από τα άλλα γνωστά κλασικά μπαλέτα – «Λίμνη των κύκνων»,«Ραϊμόντα», «Κουρσάρος», «Κάρμεν» και «Δον Κιχώτης».

Οι εκδηλώσεις του Κρατικού Μπαλέτου της Μόσχας γνώρισαν μεγάλη επιτυχία και θερμή αποδοχή του κοινού, το οποίο εκτίμησε ιδιαίτερα το υψηλό επίπεδο των Ρώσων καλλιτεχνών.

Φέτος τα Αστέρια του Μπαλέτου της Μόσχας λάμπουν ξανά τα Χριστούγεννα πανελλαδικώς φέρνοντας κοντά μας την παγκοσμίως αναγνωρισμένη τέχνη της χώρας με τεράστια πολιτιστική παράδοση.

Η παράσταση «Χριστουγεννιάτικο Gala των Αστέρων του Κρατικού Μπαλέτου της Μόσχας» θα πραγματοποιηθεί στο ΑλεξάνδρειοΣυνεδριακό Κέντρο Δήμου Λουτρακίου στις 26 Δεκεμβρίου, Δευτέρα στις 18.00 και 20.30 μ.μ. με παρουσία των επισήμων εκπροσώπων της Πρεσβείας της Ρωσίας.

Από την Κυριακή 4 του Δεκέμβρη ξεκίνησαν και πάλι στο μαγειρείο Αγιος Ευφρόσυνος τα «Παραμύθια δίπλα στο τζάκι»

Η Έλσα Λουμπαρδιά μας διηγήθηκε την ιστορία της Φούγκας της σφουγγαρίστρας και ο χώρος γέμισε παιδικά χαμόγελα!

Η παράσταση θα παίζεται κάθε Κυριακή του Δεκέμβρη στις 7 το απόγευμα, ενώ η είσοδος θα είναι ελεύθερη για μικρούς και μεγάλους.

Ποια είναι όμως η Φούγκα…

Η Φούγκα η σφουγγαρίστρα θέλει να νιώσει χρήσιμη! Δεν αντέχει άλλο να είναι παρατημένη σε μια γωνιά του πλοίου… Αποφασίζει λοιπόν να παρατήσει τον παράξενο καπετάν Βαγγελάνο και να αλλάξει ζωή! Αυτό είναι! Θα γίνει κατάρτι! Τα πράγματα όμως δεν είναι τόσο εύκολα… Ο Κίτσος το κατάρτι που έχουν πάρει τα μυαλά του αέρα, της λέει ότι δεν έχει κατάρτιση, ένα ψάρι της τρώει τα μαλλιά, ο Φάνης το φανάρι τη στέλνει στο Γκρίνουιτς, η Κλαίρη η κλιματαριά της προκαλέι αλλεργία αλλά τελικά για όλους υπάρχει ένα καταφύγιο! Η Φούγκα βρίσκεται σε ένα φιλόξενο και ζεστό σπίτι, γνωρίζει την κυρία Σκούπα Φαράση και η Λόλα η κατσαρόλα της φτιάχνει ένα αφέψημα που θα της αλλάξει τη ζωή!

Tο 2^ο Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Κορίνθου και Πελοποννήσου, πραγματοποιηται από τις 3 έως τις 10 Δεκεμβρίου στο Δημοτικό Θέατρο Κορίνθου. Η οργανωτική επιτροπή μετά από πολύμηνη προετοιμασία παρουσιάζει ένα πλούσιο πρόγραμμα, που ανταποκρίνεται σε όλα τα γούστα και τις ηλικίες. Πρωταγωνιστής του Φεστιβάλ είναι αδιαμφισβήτητα ο Ανεξάρτητος Ελληνικός Κινηματογράφος, ο οποίος εκπροσωπείται με δεκαπέντε από τις συνολικά σαράντα ταινίες της διοργάνωσης. Ωστόσο, οι θεατές θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να «ταξιδέψουν» στις χώρες προέλευσης των υπολοίπων ταινιών, την Πολωνία, την Ιταλία, τη Γαλλία, τη Γερμανία, τη Ρωσία, την Τουρκία, το Ιράν, το Αζερμπαϊτζάν, την Ινδία και τη μακρυνή Ινδονησία!

H έναρξη του Φεστιβάλ συμπίπτει με την Παγκόσμια Ημέρα για Ατομα με Αναπηρία, στο πρόγραμμα ανήκουν και ταινίες με πρωταγωνιστές άτομα με αναπηρία και αποτελούν το αφιέρωμα “We can do”. Το πρωί της Κυριακής είναι αφιερωμένο στους μικρούς θεατές με ταινίες για παιδιά με τη σειρά κινουμένων σχεδίων “'Ενα Γράμμα-Μια Ιστορία” και προεξάρχουσα την εκπαιδευτική «Διολκός, 1.500 Χρόνια» που παρουσιάζει την Κόρινθο στα μέσα του 4^ου αιώνα π.Χ.

Τα μέλη της κριτικής επιτροπής, διακεκριμένοι Ελληνες και ξένοι καλλιτέχνες, όπως η Άννα Συνοδινού, η Μάρω Θεοδωράκη, ο Van Papadopoulos, o Nικόλας Δημητρίου και ο Ινδός παραγωγός Vivek Singhania, θα αναδείξουν την ταινία που θα τιμηθεί με τον «Χρυσό Πήγασο». Από τις ψήφους κριτικών και κοινού θα προέλθουν οι νικητές στις επί μέρους κατηγορίες ταινιών.

Η είσοδος είναι ελεύθερη για κατόχους κάρτας ΟΑΕΔ και ΑμεΑ. Μηδενικό εισιτήριο έχουν και τα παιδιά το πρωί της Κυριακής 4/12. Η ημερήσια είσοδος στις ταινίες του Φεστιβάλ έχει κόστος 7 ευρώ, ενώ για όσους ενδιαφέρονται να παρακολουθήσουν όλες τις ημέρες διατίθεται κάρτα μέλους στην τιμή των 20 ευρώ.

The second Film Festival of Corinth-Peloponnese is taking place from the 3^rd until the 10^th of December at the municipal theatre of Corinth. The organizing committee after spending many months on the preparation, is presenting a wide schedule corresponding to all preferences and ages. Undoubtedly, the protagonist of the Festival is the Greek Independent Cinema, represented with fifteen films from a total of forty films in the event. However, the viewers will have the opportunity to ”travel” to the countries of origin of the rest of the films such as Poland, Italy, France, Germany, Russia, Turkey, Iran, Azerbaijan and faraway Indonesia!

Since the opening of the Festival coincides with the International Day of people with disability, the schedule includes films, in which people with disabilities are the main characters. This tribute is called “We can do’’. The films on Sunday morning are dedicated to children: animated cartoons called “One letter-One story’’ and the highlight “Diolkos, 1500 years’’ with educational content focused on Corinth around 350 B.C.

The members of the jury, notable Greek and foreign artists such as Anna Synodinou, Maro Theodoraki, Van Papadopoulos, Nikolas Demetriou and the Indian producer Vivek Singhania will vote for the film that will be honored with the “Golden Pegasus’’ award . The votes of the critics and the audience will determine the winners of the individual film categories.

Free admission for disabled people, OAEΔ cardholders and for children on Sunday morning 4/12. The daily ticket to the Festival costs 7 euros, while those interested to attend all days can get a membership card for 20 Euros.

Στις 14 -15 Οκτωβρίου το Λουτράκι φιλοξενεί το παγκόσμιο πρωτάθλημα στα Δράμια. Γιά όσους δεν γνωρίζουν το άθλημα είναι ευκαιρία να έρθουν στην πόλη μας και να το παρακολουθήσουν από κοντά. Το πρωτάθλημα θα γίνει στο κλειστό γυμναστήριο Γεώργιος Γαλανόπουλος.

Το αρχαιοελληνικό άθλημα “Δράμι” είναι ένα άθλημα το οποίο διεξάγεται με μια σιδερένια σφαίρα με λαβή. Ένα δράμι ή kettle bell είναι ένα μεγάλο κομμάτι σίδηρο σε διάφορα βάρη και συγκεκριμένα σε4, 8, 12, 16, 24, 32, 40 κιλά και για τους πολύ δυνατούς άνδρες και γυναίκες σε βάρος 48 κιλών. Είναι πολύ δυσκολότερο από το άθλημα της Άρσης Βαρών, καθότι δεν απαιτεί μόνο φοβερή δύναμη αλλά και τρομακτική αντοχή, γυμνάζοντας όλο το σώμα και κυρίως την καρδιά. Αυτός είναι και ο λόγος που έχει τρομερά ευεργετικά αποτελέσματα στην υγεία και στη φυσική κατάσταση.

Το 19ο Παγκόσμιο Πρωτάθλημα στο άθλημα στα Δράμια, στο οποίο θα συμμετάσχουν περισσότεροι από 200 αθλητές από 30 χώρες του κόσμου, θα ξεκινήσει την Παρασκευή 14 Οκτωβρίου (ώρα 10.00’)με την παρέλαση των αθλητών των εθνικών ομάδων και θα ακολουθήσει το αγωνιστικό πρόγραμμα (ώρες 11.00’ - 21.00’), το οποίο θα συνεχιστεί την επομένη Σάββατο 15Οκτωβρίου (ώρες 09.00’ - 21.00’), οπότε και θα ολοκληρωθεί η διοργάνωση με την απονομή των επάθλων στους νικητές.

Είναι ένας από τους πλέον δύσκολους αγώνες υπεραποστάσεων παγκοσμίως και παράλληλα πολύ μεγάλου ενδιαφέροντος λόγω του ιστορικού του υπόβαθρου. Ο φετινός αγώνας θα διεξαχθεί την Παρασκευή, 30 Σεπτεμβρίου και το Σάββατο, 1 Οκτωβρίου. Αποτελεί αναβίωση του άθλου του Φειδιππίδη (Αθηναίος ημεροδρόμος , τον οποίο οι Αθηναίοι στρατηγοί έστειλαν στη Σπάρτη για να ζητήσει βοήθεια προκειμένου να ενισχυθούν οι ολιγάριθμες δυνάμεις των Αθηναίων και να αντιμετωπίσουν την ασιατική πλημμυρίδα, σύμφωνα με την αφήγηση του μεγάλου ιστορικού της αρχαιότητας Ηρόδοτου για τη μάχη του Μαραθώνα το 490 π.χ.) άρρητα συνδεδεμένο με τα Ολυμπιακά ιδεώδη της φιλίας, της Ειρήνης της ανιδιοτέλειας και της συναδέλφωσης. Στη περιοχή του δήμου Λουτρακίου – Αγ. Θεοδώρων (Αγ. Θεόδωροι, Ίσθμια, Ισθμός κ.ο.κ., θα βρεθούν το πρωινό της Παρασκευής.

Every year, on the last Friday of September, the Spartathlon race starts from the Acropolis and ends in Sparta with a participation of more than 200 runners from around the world. The race perpetuates the heroic story of Pheideppedes, the messenger of the Athenians who was sent from Athens to seek reinforcement from the city of Sparta before the famous battle of Marathon in 490BC. Η Unionevent υπό την αιγίδα του Δήμου Λουτρακίου Αγίων Θεοδώρων διοργανώνει το πρώτο ολοήμερο φεστιβάλ μουσικής δίπλα στο κύμα! Με το συμβολικό αντίτιμο των 15€ προπώληση και 20€ στην είσοδο, καλούμε τους φίλους να ξεχάσουν για μια μέρα την ελληνική επικαιρότητα και να διασκεδάσουν δίπλα στο κύμα. The unique combination of earth and sea confirms the total outcome of this event and makes it the place where you could come early, have a swim, enjoy your coffee, eat something, drink a beer and of course watch your favorite bands performing live as we’ll all be embraced by the wonderful nature. There will be summer activities in our organized beach and several artists with exhibitions showing their work of art in many different types.

Our line up are bands that have made their mark in the Greek and European music scene with songs that we all love. H EPsilon Art Gallery μετά την μεγάλη επιτυχία που γνώρισε η έκθεση που οργάνωσε το 2010 στα πλαίσια των εκδηλώσεων της Πανελλήνιας Γενικής Έκθεσης «Κορινθία 2010», σε συνεργασία με το Επιμελητήριο Κορινθίας, θα οργανώσει και φέτος Πανελλήνια Εικαστική Ομαδική Έκθεση ¨ EPsilon Art Festival KORINTHIA 2011. έκθεση θα διαρκέσει από 21 έως 25 Σεπτεμβρίου 2011 και αναμένεται να την επισκεφθούν περισσότεροι από 22.000 επισκέπτες με βάση την περσινή επισκεψιμότητα. Τα έργα θα εκτεθούν σε ένα χώρο 500 τμ και οι καλλιτέχνες θα ομαδοποιηθούν (ζωγράφοι, γλύπτες, φωτογράφοι και αγιογράφοι κα), ανάλογα με την δουλειά τους. Ταυτόχρονα τα έργα θα προβάλλονται ψηφιακά, καθ' όλη τη διάρκεια της έκθεσης, από διάφορες διαδικτυακές πύλες προώθησης πολιτιστικών γεγονότων. Τη Δευτέρα 26 Ιουλίου 2010 στις 9 μ.μ. οι Αρχαιολογικοί χώροι της Κορινθίας ανοίγουν για 4η συνεχή χρονιά τις πύλες τους, για να υποδεχθούν τις Μουσικές Βραδιές Πανσελήνου 2010. Ένα ξεχωριστό πολιτιστικό γεγονός, που συνδυάζει τη μαγεία της κλασσικής μουσικής, με την απαράμιλλη αρχαιολογική κληρονομιά της Κορινθίας.

Υπό το φως της πανσελήνου του Ιουλίου, το κοινό θα έχει την ευκαιρία να απολαύσει τρεις συναυλίες που θα πραγματοποιηθούν ταυτόχρονα στην Αρχαία Νεμέα, στην Αρχαία Κόρινθο και στην Αρχαία Σικυώνα. Τρία φημισμένα αυστριακά σύνολα θα παρουσιάσουν γνωστά έργα του κλασσικού ρεπερτορίου, δημιουργώντας μια μοναδική πολιτιστική εμπειρία, για τους κατοίκους και τους επισκέπτες του Νομού.

Συγκεκριμένα, στην Αρχαία Νεμέα με φόντο τον Ναό του Διός, το Σύνολο Μουσικής Δωματίου Wiener Strauss Company και η πιανίστρια Αθηνά Καποδίστρια, θα ερμηνεύσουν έργα των W.A. Mozart, J.S. Bach, F. Schubert, J. Schrammel, Antonin Dvorak και J. Strauss.

Ένα ευρύ ρεπερτόριο από το χώρο της κλασσικής μουσικής θα παρουσιάσει την ίδια ώρα στο Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Σικυώνας, το αυστριακό συγκρότημα Netnakisum.

Τέλος, κάτω από τον επιβλητικό Ακροκόρινθο, στην Αρχαία Κόρινθο στο Ναό Οκταβίας, το συγκρότημα Attersee Trio θα παρουσιάσει δημιουργίες των Joaquin Turina, Ludwig van Beethoven και Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy.

Οι εκδηλώσεις τελούν υπό την αιγίδα του Υπουργείου Πολιτισμού - Τουρισμού.

Τη διοργάνωση των εκδηλώσεων επιμελούνται, η ΛΖ’ Εφορεία Προϊστορικών και Κλασσικών Αρχαιοτήτων Κορινθίας, η Νομαρχιακή Αυτοδιοίκηση Κορινθίας, καθώς και οι Δήμοι Νεμέας και Σικυωνίων. Οι συναυλίες υποστηρίζονται από την Αυστριακή Πρεσβεία στην Ελλάδα.

Μέγας Χορηγός των Μουσικών Βραδιών Πανσελήνου είναι και φέτος, όπως και τα προηγούμενα τρία χρόνια, η Club Hotel Casino Loutraki, τηρώντας με συνέπεια τη δέσμευσή της για συμβολή στην ανάδειξη της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς της Κορινθίας και την ποιοτική τουριστική προβολή του τόπου.

Αντίστοιχες συναυλίες κλασσικής μουσικής, με τη χορηγία της Club Hotel Casino Loutraki, θα πραγματοποιηθούν στους ίδιους αρχαιολογικούς χώρους στις 24 Αυγούστου 2010, υπό το φως της αυγουστιάτικης πανσελήνου.

Οι Μουσικές Βραδιές Πανσελήνου έχουν αναδειχθεί τα τελευταία χρόνια σε πολιτιστικό θεσμό για την περιοχή της Κορινθίας, αποτελώντας παράδειγμα αρμονικής συνεργασίας του κράτους, των φορέων της τοπικής αυτοδιοίκησης, της αυστριακής πρεσβείας και της Club Hotel Casino Loutraki, ως χορηγού. Australian stunt Motocrosser Robbie Maddison not only jumped over the 85-metre wide Corinth Canal at height of nearly 100 metres in Greece on Thursday, but he also had a bigger hurdle to overcome: fear

Motocross Freestyle, with breathtaking tricks such as flips performed at heights of up to three storeys high, is one the world's most dangerous sports. Robbie Maddison is one of the world's best in FMX.

But that is not enough for the 28-year-old Australian. Maddison is always looking for even greater thrills and has completed a number of spectacular jumps that would have made pioneering stuntman Evel Knievel proud. In 2007 and 2008 Maddison set three world records for distance all the way to 107 metres (350 feet). In 2009 he celebrated New Year's Eve in Las Vegas by jumping up 30 metres onto the Arc de Triomph in front of Paris Las Vegas and then descended off the monument to ground level. Last year pictures of him jumping the Tower Bridge over the Thames River with a backflip while the drawbridge was open went around the world.

Many Motocrossers have wanted to jump across the Corinth Canal, which was built in 1893. But the Australian was the first to succeed. He sped his Honda 500 up through a turn-filled approach past a pool, across a soccer pitch and past a chicken coop to a speed of 125 km/h. On Thurday morning he accelerated up a ramp over the canal some 80 metres below and landed safely on a mound set up on the other side of the canal. At his apogee Maddison was 95 metres above the canal's surface.

Maddison said getting the approach right despite the constantly changing surfaces – from grass to concrete to wood to asphalt again and then carpet – was difficult enough but there was greater hurdle to the jump: "Overcoming fear, that's always the hardest part," Maddison said.
"Maddo" will travel straight from Greece to Mexico City for the season opener of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour. Maddison was second overall last year and aims to win the title this year.

History of 'Istmia Games'

The Isthmian Games or Isthmia were one of the Panhellenic Games of Ancient Greece, and were named after the isthmus of Corinth, where they were held. As with the Nemean Games, the Isthmian Games were held both the year before and the year after the Olympic Games (the second and fourth years of an Olympiad), while the Pythian Games were held in the third year of the Olympiad cycle.

The Games were reputed to have originated as funeral games for Melicertes (also known as Palaemon), instituted by Sisyphus, legendary founder and king of Corinth, who discovered the dead body and buried it subsequently on the Isthmus. In Roman times, Melicertes was worshipped in the region. Theseus, legendary king of Athens, expanded Melicertes' funeral games from a closed nightly rite into fully-fledged athletic-games event which was dedicated to Poseidon, open to all Greeks, and was at a suitable level of advancement and popularity to rival those in Olympia, which were founded by Heracles. Theseus arranged with the Corinthians for any Athenian visitors to the Isthmian games to be granted the privilege of front seats. Another version states that Kypselos, tyrant of Corinth in the 7th century BC, returned to the Games their old splendour. If we are to accept the traditional date of the first Olympic Games (776 BC), we can say that the first Isthmian Games would have been held in 582 BC. At least until the 5th century BC (Pindar's time) the winners of the Isthmian games received a wreath of celery. Later, the wreath was altered such that it consisted of pine leaves. Victors could also be honored with a statue or an ode. Besides these prizes of honor, the city of Athens awarded victorious Athenians with an extra 100 drachmas

History

Flaminius restoring Liberty to Greece at the Isthmian Games. From 228 BC or 229 BC onwards the Romans were allowed to take part in the games. The Games of 196 BC were used by Titus Quinctius Flamininus to proclaim the freedom of the Greek states from Macedonian rule. Since the games' inception, Corinth had always been in control of them.

When Corinth was destroyed by the Romans in 146 BC, the Isthmian games continued, but were now administered by Sicyon. Corinth was rebuilt by Caesar in 44 BC. Corinth recovered ownership of the Games at some point between 7 BC and AD 3.

The Isthmian Games thereafter flourished until Theodosius I suppressed them as a pagan ritual.

Comparable to the Olympic games. Among other competitions were:

* Pankration
* Wrestling
* Musical and poetical contests, in which there is evidence women were allowed to compete.

Holy Monastery of St. Patapios, Loutraki

The following story comes from the book: Apostle to Zaire: The Life and Legacy of Blessed Cosmas of Grigoriou, an excellent book about a Grace-filled ascetic and missionary of our times. The book includes the biography of Fr. Cosmas, along with many miracles that have occurred among the faithful there.

"We want the Apolytikion of St. Patapios

One evening a pious Zairian couple arrived at our Mission Center. I knew them very well because they are assiduous followers of our liturgical Services and catechetical teaching. They said to me: 'Father, will you give us the Apolytikion and the Kontakion of St. Patapios?'

'Why is that? And how do you know about St. Patapios?' I [Fr. Cosmas] asked.

The husband replied as follows: 'Recently we have been through a lot of difficulties in our house. We prayed hard at night for God's help. One night I had this vision in a dream. I could see that I was holding tightly onto a rope and walking towards one of our churches without touching the ground, and my wife was walking behind me in exactly the same way. At that moment, a monk came out of the church and said to us: 'Do not be downcast about your problems. Take this Gospel and this prayer-rope, read, pray and call upon my name and I will help you. I am St. Patapios.'

They felt they received these gifts from his hands, and that the Bible was open to the Gospel of St. John. To be sure, with the help of a Zairian, I translated the chants in honour of St. Patapios into Swahili and gave them to the couple, with an icon of the Saint.

On the life of St. Patapios (or Patapius) of Thebes:

"Our Holy Father Patapius was born and brought up in the Faith and in the fear of God by pious parents in the Egyptian city of Thebes [in the 7th Century] He perceived and rejected the empty vanity of the world early in life and went into the Egyptian desert, where he devoted himself to cleansing his heart from every worldly thought and desire for the sake of divine love. When his virtues became known among the people, they began to come to him and seek relief from their troubles. Afraid of human glory, which darkens a man's mind and separates it from God, Patapius fled from the desert to Constantinople, for this wonderful saint thought that he could more easily hide himself from men in the heart of a city than in the desert. He built himself a hut close to the Blachernae church and there, enclosed and unknown, took up again his interrupted life of asceticism. But the light cannot be hidden. A child, blind from birth, was led by divine Providence to St Patapius and begged him to offer a prayer that he might be given his sight and look upon God's creation, and praise God all the more. Patapius had pity on the suffering child and prayed to God, and the child saw. Through this miracle, Patapius's godly life became known throughout the entire capital, and people began to turn to him for healing, comfort and teaching. Patapius healed one eminent man of dropsy [edema] after blessing him with a cross and anointing him with oil. Making the sign of the Cross in the air, he freed a youth from an unclean spirit which had cruelly tormented him, and the evil spirit went out of God's creature like smoke, uttering a great cry. He made the sign of the Cross over a woman who had sores on her breasts all filled with worms, and she was healed. St Patapius worked many other miracles, all through prayer in the name or Christ and by the power of the Cross."

Some accounts say that he passed away in Constantinople, and his disciples later brought his Holy Remains to a cave near Loutraki, Corinth, Greece, and others say that he moved to this cave in life and there reposed. For centuries his Holy Relics remained in obscurity, but were found miraculous and incorrupt 1400 years later by the Grace of God:

"In early 1904, in grooves in the west of a cave located 18 kilometers above the Loutraki, in Geraneia Mountains, the Grace-flowing Relics of St. Patapios were revealed intact and incorrupt. It was discovered as a result of the efforts of a priest from Loutraki named Father Konstantinos Sousani. He would visit this ascetical cave and Church often, and when he liturgized, he constantly had to stoop down because the cave was low. [At this point, I believe that it was unknown that St. Patapios was buried in this cave] Fr. Kostas Sousanis instructed the marble-worker Vasilios Protopapa to excavate and broaden the cave on all sides. While he was digging, in front of stunned eyes of the bystanders in the crypt, they uncovered the Holy Relic and sof the Saint, sweet-smelling, incorrupt, with the flesh and skin still intact and dry. «The body was found on on a cedar wood base by the head and marble by the legs and covered with a series of tiles» (Proskynitarion of the Monastery of Saint Patapios. On the leather belt that [the Saint] wore was written the name of Saint Patapios, and he held a small wooden cross...The Holy Relic of Saint Patapios, which constantely «has a sweet-smelling, spiritual fragrance» provides the healing Grace of the Holy Spirit to those who come with faith and devotion." Today there is a convent with about forty nuns at the Monastery of St. Patapios (which is 14km from Loutraki, near Corinth, Greece), and many miracles continue to occur for those who call upon the Saint with faith in Christ. Tomorrow (December 8th) is a main feastday of St. Patapios (another feast is the Tuesday after Pascha, when the Finding of his Holy Relics is commemorated), so may we have his blessings.

Volunteer students from USA High schools clean the beaches of Loutraki and Perahora Municipality

Hotel Segas in Loutraki congratulates the volunteer students of High schools from the United States America that cleaned the beaches of Loutraki and Perahora Municipality.

The students visited the region and asked the Municipality of Loutraki and Perahora to provide voluntary work in the frame of their environmental educational program. The municipality of Loutraki and Perahora corresponded enthusiastically and so far two events have taken place already:
- on the 26 June 2009 they cleaned the Isthmion Coast by students of three High schools from the states of Tennessee and Milwaukie, USA
- on the 2 July 2009 the cleaning of Loutraki beach was done by students from the High school of California

The services of the Municipality of Loutraki and Perahora provided equipment (sachets of litter, gloves of use, lorry) and personnel, while at the enf they were offered students juices and the famous Loutraki waters from the Municipality.

The cleaning of coasts is included in an educational environmental program that has been taken place in the last 5 years. A total of 5 similar activities have been planned to clean the coasts and archaeological spaces of the Municipality of Loutraki and Perahora. The local residents are grateful for the assistance of the American students and are looking forward to welcome them back in the region.

Στο φως του Φεγγαριού οι Αρχαιολογικοί Χώροι της Κορινθίας πλημμυρίζουν από νότες Κλασικής Μουσικής. Την Τρίτη 7 Ιουλίου 2009, στις 21:00, οι Αρχαιολογικοί χώροι της Κορινθίας ανοίγουν τις πύλες τους, για τρίτη συνεχόμενη χρονιά, στις «Μουσικές Βραδιές Πανσελήνου». Υπό το φως της καλοκαιρινής πανσελήνου, κάτοικοι και επισκέπτες του Νομού Κορινθίας θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να απολαύσουν ένα μαγικό ταξίδι στην κλασσική μουσική, με φόντο τα μοναδικά αρχαιολογικά μνημεία της περιοχής.
Τρία φημισμένα αυστριακά συγκροτήματα, θα παρουσιάσουν ταυτόχρονα συναυλίες κλασσικής μουσικής στην Αρχαία Νεμέα στο Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο Αρχαίας Σικυώνας και στην Αρχαία Κόρινθο – Ναό Οκταβίας.

Στον Αρχαιολογικό χώρο της Αρχαίας Νεμέας, το συγκρότημα «Haydn Trio Eisenstadt» θα αφιερώσει το μεγαλύτερο μέρος του μουσικού του προγράμματος στην επέτειο, που φέτος εορτάζει το Αυστριακό κράτος, των 200 ετών από τον θάνατο του επιφανή αυστριακού συνθέτη, Joseph Haydn.

Το συγκρότημα «Christian Haimel & Austrian Guitar Quartet» με κλασικές κιθάρες θα ερμηνεύσει για τους επισκέπτες του Αρχαιολογικού Μουσείου Αρχαίας Σικυώνας, έργα των A.Barrios Mangore, I.Albeniz, F.M.Torroba, A.Piazzola, G.Bizet, P.Bellinatti και F. Carulli.

Τέλος, στον Αρχαιολογικό χώρο της Αρχαίας Κορίνθου στο Ναό Οκταβίας, το συγκρότημα «Trombone Attraction» θα παρουσιάσει έργα κλασικών δημιουργών όπως των W.A.Mozart, J.Haydn, C.Debussy αλλά και σύγχρονες δημιουργίες των P.Desmond, Beatles, και G.Richards.

Οι «Μουσικές Βραδιές Πανσελήνου» στους Αρχαιολογικούς χώρους της Κορινθίας τελούν υπό την αιγίδα του Υπουργείου Πολιτισμού και εντάσσονται στο πλαίσιο των εκδηλώσεων «Βραδιές Πανσελήνου», που πραγματοποιεί σε συνεργασία με την Τοπική και Νομαρχιακή Αυτοδιοίκηση, στους αρχαιολογικούς χώρους και μνημεία της Ελλάδας.

Οι εκδηλώσεις πραγματοποιούνται με την υποστήριξη της Αυστριακής Πρεσβείας στην Ελλάδα, ενώ διοργανωτές είναι η ΛΖ΄Εφορεία Αρχαιοτήτων Κορινθίας, η Νομαρχιακή Αυτοδιοίκηση Κορινθίας και οι Δήμοι Κορινθίων, Νεμέας και Σικυωνίων.

Μέγας Χορηγός των Μουσικών Βραδιών Πανσελήνου είναι και φέτος, όπως και τα προηγούμενα δύο χρόνια, η Club Hotel Casino Loutraki. Πρόκειται για μια πρωτοβουλία με στόχο τη συμβολή της εταιρείας στην ανάδειξη της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς της Κορινθίας και την ποιοτική τουριστική προβολή του τόπου. Χαιρετισμός Δημάρχου Λουτρακίου - Περαχώρας
Το καλοκαιρινό πρόγραμμα εκδηλώσεων του Δήμου Λουτρακίου - Περαχώρας αναδεικνύει την παραγωγική δουλειά που γίνεται τα τελευταία χρόνια στο χώρο του πολιτισμού. Στόχος μας είναι ο πολιτισμός και οι καλές τέχνες να κερδίσουν περισσότερους νέους ανθρώπους, οι οποίοι θα διαμορφώσουν μία νέα, σύγχρονη κουλτούρα. Και απαραίτητη προϋπόθεση γι’ αυτό είναι η συμμετοχή και η αξιοποίηση όλων των δυνάμεων του τόπου μας. Έτσι γνωστοί Έλληνες τραγουδιστές συμπράττουν με τους μαθητές της Μουσικής Σχολής, που λειτουργεί στο πλαίσιο του Πνευματικού Πολιτιστικού Κέντρου του Δήμου Λουτρακίου – Περαχώρας, ενώ για πρώτη φορά εμφανίζεται η Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα που ιδρύθηκε τον Μάρτιο. Αναβιώνουμε επίσης τα λαϊκά πανηγύρια, συμβάλλοντας στην αναζωογόνηση της γνήσιας παράδοσης του τόπου μας. Θέτουμε τις βάσεις για τη δημιουργία ενός δικτύου πολιτισμού και καλούμε τους δημότες, τους επισκέπτες, τους φορείς και τους συλλόγους της πόλης να το εμπλουτίσουν και να το ενδυναμώσουν. Οι πολιτιστικές εκδηλώσεις που οργανώνει ο Δήμος Λουτρακίου – Περαχώρας είναι μία ανοιχτή πρόσκληση προς όλους για συμμετοχή, ψυχαγωγία και δημιουργία.

The new Acropolis Museum is opening today in Athens

The monuments of the Acropolis have withstood the ravages of past centuries, both of ancient times and those of the Middle Ages. Until the 17th century, foreign travellers visiting the monuments depicted the classical buildings as being intact. This remained the case until the middle of the same century, when the Propylaia was blown up while being used as a gunpowder store. Thirty years later, the Ottoman occupiers dismantled the neighbouring Temple of Athena Nike to use its materials to strengthen the fortification of the Acropolis. The most fatal year, however, for the Acropolis, was 1687, when many of the building’s architectural members were blown into the air and fell in heaps around the Hill of the Acropolis, caused by a bomb from the Venetian forces. Foreign visitors to the Acropolis would search through the rubble and take fragments of the fallen sculptures as their souvenirs.

It was in the 19th century that Lord Elgin removed intact architectural sculptures from the frieze, the metopes and the pediments of the building.In 1833, the Turkish garrison withdrew from the Acropolis. Immediately after the founding of the Greek State, discussions about the construction of an Acropolis Museum on the Hill of the Acropolis began. In 1863, it was decided that the Museum be constructed on a site to the southeast of the Parthenon and foundations were laid on 30 December 1865.

The building program for the Museum had provided that its height not surpasses the height of the stylobate of the Parthenon. With only 800 square meters of floor space, the building was rapidly shown to be inadequate to accommodate the findings from the large excavations on the Acropolis that began in 1886. A second museum was announced in 1888, the so-called Little Museum. Final changes occurred in 1946-1947 with the second Museum being demolished and the original being sizably extended.By the 1970s, the Museum could not cope satisfactorily with the large numbers of visitors passing through its doors. The inadequacy of the space frequently caused problems and downgraded the sense that the exhibition of the masterpieces from the Rock sought to achieve. The Acropolis Museum was firstly conceived by Constantinos Karamanlis in September 1976. He also selected the site, upon which the Museum was finally built, decades later. With his penetrating vision, C. Karamanlis defined the need and established the means for a new Museum equipped with all technical facilities for the conservation of the invaluable Greek artifacts, where eventually the Parthenon sculptures will be reunited.For these reasons, architectural competitions were conducted in 1976 and 1979, but without success.

In 1989, Melina Mercouri, who as Minister of Culture inextricably identified her policies with the claim for the return of the Parthenon Marbles from the British Museum, initiated an international architectural competition. The results of this competition were annulled following the discovery of a large urban settlement on the Makriyianni site dating from Archaic to Early Christian Athens. This discovery now needed to be integrated into the New Museum that was to be built on this site.In the year 2000, the Organization for the Construction of the New Acropolis Museum announced an invitation to a new tender, which was realized in accord with the Directives of the European Union. It is this Tender that has come to fruition with the awarding of the design tender to Bernard Tschumi with Michael Photiadis and their associates and the completion of construction in 2007.Today, the new Acropolis Museum has a total area of 25,000 square meters, with exhibition space of over 14,000 square meters, ten times more than that of the old museum on the Hill of the Acropolis. The new Museum offers all the amenities expected in an international museum of the 21st century.

Hours: The Museum is open 8.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. daily, except for Mondays. Last admission is at 7.30 p.m. Please note that galleries are cleared fifteen minutes before closing.

Public Holidays:The Museum is closed on the following dates: 1 January, 6 January, 25 March, Orthodox Good Friday, Easter Monday, 1 May, Whit Monday, 15 August, 28 October, 25 December & 26 December.

Museum Entrance: The main off street public entrance to the Museum is from the pedestrian walkway of Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. The public entrance to the Museum building is at the Dionysiou Areopagitou Street main side of the Museum.A bus drop off point for groups is available at Hatzichristou Street. Visitors arriving on tour buses enter from the Hatzichristou Street entrance and make their way to the main public entrance (on the Dionysiou Areopagitou side of the Museum).

Ticketing:The Acropolis Museum will open to the public, on a restricted basis, on Sunday 21 June 2009. On Sunday 21, Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 June 2009 visitors can only enter the museum with an e-ticket – a ticket pre-purchased through the Museum’s website. On Sunday 21, Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 June 2009, other than e-ticketing, there will be no other tickets available for entry. No tickets will be sold at the Museum.From Wednesday 24 June 2009, visitors will be able to gain admission to the Museum with the purchase of a ticket at the Museum, or the pre purchase of a ticket on the Museum website. As of Wednesday 24 June 2009, there will be free admission for YPPO cardholders.

From 21 June 2009 to 31 December 2009, the cost of entry for all visitors is 1 euro.

Mikko Hirvonen sealed a comfortable victory in the 56th Acropolis Rally of Greece after holding off a challenge from Sébastien Ogier. It was the 28-year-old Ford driver's eighth World Rally Championship victory as he finished the final stage 1min 12.9sec ahead of Frenchman, for whom it was the best result of his career.

It allowed Hirvonen to close the gap on the Championship leader Sébastien Loeb, who crashed out on Saturday, to seven points in the overall standings ahead of the eighth round, the Rally of Poland, which starts on June 26.

Hirvonen's team-mate Jari-Matti Latvala took third place after finishing 32.1sec behind Ogier, completing a remarkable recovery after going off the road on Friday, the opening day.

Finland's Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen increased their lead in the Acropolis Rally of Greece today during a dramatic second leg. On a day of remarkable attrition, the BP Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team drivers steered clear of trouble in their Focus RS World Rally Car to extend their advantage to 1min 40.1sec. Team-mates Jari-Matti Latvala and Miikka Anttila also kept their cool in the Greek heat to charge up the leaderboard from 11th to third in a similar car.

Today's route took competitors across the historic Corinth Canal into the Peleponnese peninsula, south-west of the rally base in Loutraki. Drivers tackled two identical clockwise loops of three speed tests covering 135.36km, split by a lunchtime service in the town. Blistering early morning sunshine gave way to cooler conditions this afternoon as clouds offered respite for the crews and cars alike.

The Peleponnese was a traditional Acropolis venue in the 1980s, but has been unused since and the gravel special stages were narrow, highly technical and strewn with rocks. The arduous roads took a fearsome toll on the frontrunners as three of the top five crews retired this morning, with two more giving second best to the conditions this afternoon. However, the Focus RS WRCs never missed a beat, displaying the combination of strength, reliability and speed that is the key to success here.

Overnight leader Hirvonen was fearful of running first in the start order today, sweeping the slippery loose gravel from the road surface to offer cleaner and faster conditions for his pursuers behind. However, the 28-year-old extended his 3.0sec advantage into a 24.8sec lead during the first loop, protecting his Pirelli Scorpion tyres on the abrasive tracks during the opening two tests to give him the opportunity to win the third. A sensible pace this afternoon allowed him to stretch his lead further, as the conditions proved too much for his rivals.

"It was an incredible, but perfect, day for me," he said. "I made no mistakes and drove fast enough to lead and cautiously enough not to damage the car. My lead is good but I must remember that this is Greece, conditions are rough, and to take it steady tomorrow. I looked after my tyres and didn't hit any rocks. I'm surprised so many people made mistakes but it shows things go wrong under pressure, especially on technical stages like these.

"I never drove at maximum speed, it was a controlled drive and that paid off. Tomorrow's roads are easier than today but there will still be a lot of rocks to avoid. It's good to have such a strong lead because that gives me the time to drive around the rocks, and if I lose a few seconds here and there it doesn’t matter," he added.

Latvala, who lost the lead after sliding off the road on yesterday's final stage, stormed back up the leaderboard as others fell by the wayside. He made the most of the cleaner road conditions to win this morning's first test and completed the opening loop in fifth. A measured pace this afternoon, which included winning the first stage for a second time, sealed his recovery into a podium position.

"This rally requires respect and once you start to push then you encounter problems," said Latvala. "I knew something would happen today, but I'm surprised how much happened. The Acropolis showed its true nature, but I survived it. The roads were narrow, with rocks and small walls on the edge, so it was easy to hit a stone by cutting the bends. I kept a steady speed and can't believe I have climbed to third. I was thinking about seventh this morning, and I couldn't have imagined this.

"I want to control my pace again tomorrow. Third is my target, I have no ambition to chase second and risk making a mistake or damaging the car. I'm not going to try to take too big a piece of the cake," he added.

Abu Dhabi's Khalid Al Qassimi and Michael Orr slipped from an overnight eighth to 11th this morning, but recovered well to move back into a points-scoring seventh place tonight in another Focus RS WRC. "It was tough and the car took a huge battering, but it withstood the punishment superbly. I couldn't push too much on the rocky surface and had to be sensible and avoid mistakes. I lost time on the final stage when I caught Petter Solberg, but it was so dusty that I had to stop four or five times. I couldn't get close enough to pass him and had to drive slowly simply to see the road," said Al Qassimi.

Team director Malcolm Wilson had a double reason to be happy tonight after receiving an OBE today in The Queen's Birthday Honours list. "What a turnaround today has been. Mikko delivered a mature and controlled performance to put himself into a very strong position tonight, while Jari-Matti drove sensibly to capitalise on the mistakes of others. The Focus RS WRC showed great strength and excelled in what were probably the roughest conditions of the season and I'm delighted to have both of them in podium positions tonight," he said.

News from other Ford teams

Munchi's drivers Federico Villagra and José Diaz lie sixth in their Focus RS WRC after a troublefree day. Stobart duo Matthew Wilson and Scott Martin restarted 31st after yesterday's early retirement, but a string of good stage times enabled the Britons to climb to 18th tonight. Team-mates Henning Solberg and Cato Menkerud retired their Focus RS WRC from fifth after hitting a large rock and breaking the car's front right suspension.

Tomorrow’s Route

The final leg is the shortest of the rally with just 95.26km of competition, but included in that are two passes over the daunting 33.00km Aghii Theodori test, the longest of the rally. After leaving Loutraki at 09.00, drivers face an opening loop of three stages before service, and a final loop comprising two of the same tests. The finish is back in the town at 14.36.

The adventure began in November 2000, when four people from the hotel and restaurant, decided to join together to provide meals for events outside of the ordinary. All this went very fast: testing for Michelin in Formula 1, Grand Prix and then throughout the world, rally to Tunisia Neveu / Pelletier Organization. A few months later, Citroën asked us to accompany them on the Acropolis Rally in Greece. Racing orientation ULM Tour de France, 24 hours of Le Mans race championnat de France de VTT, another tasty dishes at the entrances, cheese above the delicate desserts and always this quality in the base of an enhanced seamless service. In 2008, Bivouac and Team Services Perigorg Gourmand, catering company that specializes in kitchen and pool their television activities.

L'aventure a commencé en Novembre 2000, lorsque quatre personnes issues de l'hôtellerie et de la restauration, décidèrent de s'associer pour assurer les repas lors d'évenements hors du commun. Tout cela alla alors très vite : essais pour Michelin en Formule 1, puis Grand Prix à travers le monde, rallye de Tunisie pour Neveu/Pelletier Organisation. Quelques mois après, Citroën nous demandait de les accompagner sur le rallye de l'Acropole en Grèce.

Ford driver Mikko Hirvonen is the surprise leader of the Acropolis Rally of Greece following a last stage mistake from Jari-Matti Latvala.

The World Rally Championship competitors will be continuing their season in the Mediterranean region once more: following the race on the Italian island of Sardinia, the drivers and teams now head for Greece and its Acropolis Rally.

The seventh round of the year takes place from June 12th to 14th, with rally headquarters based in Loutraki.

A difficult gravel event run under usually very hot temperatures, the Acropolis Rally begins this Friday with five stages covering 119.3 kilometres of timed runs. Initially the programme for Day One counted six stages, but SS3 has been cancelled by the organisers, presumably because surface conditions would have deteriorated too rapidly.

On Saturday, two loops over thee trails will make up the day's itinerary of 469.02km, of which 135.36km are set against the clock.

Sunday's final day of action in Greece counts five tests, including two loops separated by a single passage over the New Pissia stage. The WRC competitors will cover 176.55km on Day Three, of which 95.26km will be timed.

Greece is situated in the GMT + 3 time zone; the table indicated below is in local time. Most European countries must subtract one hour, while UK residents must subtract two hours.

First run in 1953, the Greek event is one of the longest-standing in world rallying.The mix of rough, twisty mountain stages, blistering heat and choking dust makes the Acropolis Rally of Greece the toughest on the WRC calendar. Cars have to be built extra-sturdy to cope with the surprisingly fast, but rock-strewn stages, while drivers and co-drivers have to be at peak physical fitness to cope with the pounding terrain and temperatures in the cockpit which can top 50 degrees Celsius. The twisty, boulder-filled stages place huge demands on engine and cockpit cooling, as natural airflow is limited by the slow cornering speeds. The suspension and underside of the car, however, take a huge pounding from the rocks hurled up by the car and tyre wear can be a big issue. You need brains to win here, as much as brawn.
New for 2009: After being based for a number of years near the historic city of Delphi, in 2007 the event returned to its spiritual home of Athens. This year it's on the move again, to a new base in the town of Loutraki approximately 85 km west of Athens.

Το φετινό ράλι Ακρόπολις όχι μόνο πρέπει, αλλά οφείλει να είναι το καλύτερο όλων των εποχών και αυτό δεν πρόκειται να γίνει χωρίς τη βοήθεια όλων μας. Ο καθένας μας όχι μόνο πρέπει, αλλά οφείλει να στηρίξει με την παρουσία του το κορυφαίο μηχανοκίνητο γεγονός στη χώρα μας, αν θέλει το ράλι μας να αναβιώσει το ένδοξο παρελθόν του. Έστω και αν βρεθούμε σε μία ειδική διαδρομή, κάτι θα σημαίνει και αυτό...

Η τελετή εκκίνησης του φετινού Ακρόπολις θα γίνει από την παλιά γέφυρα της διώρυγας του Ισθμού, ενώ η απονομή θα γίνει εμπρός από το Club Hotel Casino Loutraki. Από τις 11 έως τις 14 Ιουνίου οι συμμετέχουσες ομάδες και τα πληρώματα θα κατασκηνώσουν σε έναν ειδικά διαμορφωμένο ασφαλτοστρωμένο χώρο στη Σχολή Μηχανικού, όπου θα λειτουργήσει το Service Park. Ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον θα έχει η ζωντανή τηλεοπτική μετάδοση της ειδικής διαδρομής «Άγιοι Θεόδωροι», η οποία είναι μία από τις πιο θεαματικές και εκεί είναι πιθανό να ξεχωρίσει ο φετινός νικητής του Ακρόπολις. Αξίζει να σημειωθεί πως δεν θα υπάρξει σούπερ ειδική, αλλά η διοργανώτρια αρχή δεσμεύεται για πλούσιο θέαμα, που θα περιλαμβάνει παράπλευρες εκδηλώσεις (συναυλίες, αναπαραστάσεις κ.ά.) με το χαρακτήρα ενός μικρού φεστιβάλ.

Όσοι έχουν ασχοληθεί με το στήσιμο του φετινού Ακρόπολις μιλούν για ένα από τα καλύτερα, τουλάχιστον σε επίπεδο ειδικών διαδρομών. Η εκκίνηση θα γίνει από το Λουτράκι και η 1η ε.δ. θα λάβει χώρα στη περιοχή Χαρβάτι. Από εκεί και πέρα τα πληρώματα θα αγωνιστούν στις ε.δ. της Θήβας και της Ευαγγελίστριας, κοντά στη Λειβαδιά. Κατόπιν θα ακολουθήσουν οι 4η και 5η ε.δ., στους Βωξίτες και στο Δροσοχώρι, γύρω από την Άμφισσα. Τη 2η μέρα ο αγώνας θα διεξαχθεί στην ευρύτερη περιοχή της ορεινής Κορινθίας, με επαναλαμβανόμενες ε.δ. κοντά στις Μυκήνες, στο Γυμνό και βορειότερα στο Κεφαλάρι. Την τελευταία μέρα τα πληρώματα θα αγωνιστούν σε πέντε ε.δ. βόρεια της διώρυγας του Ισθμού, συγκεκριμένα πάνω από το Λουτράκι, στους Αγίους Θεοδώρους, στη Κινέττα και στο Χαρβάτι.
